The goal of the spiritual quest is create a state of consciousness which is free from any movement , title, adjective, or any external view upon it which would stain the immidate purity of the subjective experience of oneself.
In other words, we wish to establish an inner state which abides within itself and gives birth to an experience which can be described as being the "Experiencer" only. Without any external point of relating to it. Only than we can say that this "Who Am I".
A state which stands in its' own purity and freedom from any outer experience. A Pure - Existential "I". The experiencer beyond any experience. The flactuation of the mind, the tendancy to pursuit objects within the mind, thoughts, feelings, ect, always regenerate the lack of such experience. As our reality is always occupied with objects of different sorts that stain and obscure the experiencer. Only the experience is recognized and identified with. This is the meaning of ignorance.
This understanding is very important and should be deeply contemplated. Else, our practice and meditation would not be as sharp and clear as possible. Many meditators claim to experience amazing moments during their meditation sittings. some see visual formations, some experience special bliss. Although all these experiences attract our attention and desire to hold to, we must remind ourselves that the goal is a state which is free from any experience. A rest and freedom within rest and freedom itself only. Awakening is not awakening to an object, but awakening to the very awakening itself, and to the source of it. A continuous process of withdrawal from any objects , leading us into gradual deepening of the experiencer oneself.
The existential "I", integrating with the experiencer, is a multidimensional journey into the supreme subjectivity of oneself. A journey into growing intimacy with the experience of oneself. The pure "I" is revealed into a greater depth of oneself. It is like an elevetor peer, which one surrenders to , and the journey into the earth can reach outmost profoundity and depth. This depth and level of attainment will be defined by the potential and the desire of the seeker. One can reach only that which one is destined to reach within ones' capacity in this lifetime. Meaning, the level of awakening and liberation, differs from one seeker to another, as Enlightnement is not a one flavor, one platformed exprience. In fact , it is an extremely rich, profound, complexed, multi-levels of presonal and impersonal consciousness.
It is a journey of the very bounded, limited, objects addicted consciousness, into a gradual process of removal of boudries of this perosnal consciousness itself. A process of recognition of our true essence, and integration with its' inherent wisdom and harmony. A process of letting go of unconscious formations within our minds, and surrendering to a more conscious and alive experience of our relations with life. Slowly giving birth to a growing stability of the experience of Pure-I, until it takes over the entire experience of our old-self.
This chapter is called revelation and creation of Pure-I, as revelation only won't create the integration needed with the state. Our old tendancies of holding to defined environment based on objects and external point of view upon ourselves, won't allow the solidity of the experience of oneself to be sustained. Therefore, although we speak about the "Pure-I", that which I-AM, in truth this I Am, doesn't exist yet. It exists only as an outcome of how the experiencer relates to oneself. Therefore we can say that Awakening, Enlightenment, is a process of creation of the right relations with that which already exists within us. Therefore we can understand that we cannot surrender to naive understandings saying that liberation is already within us, and there is no place of desire for attainments, as the desire itself create another false sense of "I". This statement underestimates the difficulties and the obsticles that one faces when entering the spiritual path, being completely lost within the realm of thoughts and objects. Therefore, saying that "there is nothing to do", or "just accept the grace of a guru", would be almost an insult to our intelligence. Although transmission of an evolved guide, can be a key to initiating a new experience of deeper consciousness within the students' experience, It cannot be the only key to transformation. The student must inititiate within oneself the will, the curiousity, the desire, the devotion, the disciplane needed, in order to stabilize oneself within the realm of "Pure-I". else, the gravity force between the objects, the outer definitions, and his attention in the mind, will again regenerate a false reality.
